This was from the original thread a couple weeks ago:

Here is another image of the birdseye fiddleback. The surface has been planed and flat. So any apparent 3D effect is produced by the figure.

Peter,

I am hoping that Tim will jump in here and but I would think that once all of the pieces that will be spoken for are spoken for then the process of shipping will begin. So once that has happened Tim and I have to decide how payment will go but you will be sending payment to one of us who will then settle up with the other and the wood will be packaged, fumigated, documented and shipped. It will be 6 to 8 weeks in transit and another week after it arrives in Vancouver before it will get to me. Once I have it I will get billets back out the door right away, over a two or three day period I anticipate. Sawn sets will be longer as I will saw them and then dry them at least to a stable state before I ship them, that will be 3 or 4 weeks likely. The shipping from my shop to your shop will be in addition to the billet bd ft price plus the $6/ bd ft for broker fees and taxes to enter Canada and to have it shipped from Vancouver to my shop. Tim and I will have this completly worked out once the billets are claimed. Hope this helps Peter (and everyone!)

LOTS OF GREAT BIRDSEYE STILL UP FOR CLAIM!!!

Thanks

Shane

Hello OLF members. Let me say thankyou for your patronage re: blackwood. I have sent a PM to Shane regarding the offer and we hope to finalise the group buy so it all should be organised for shipping some time next week. All the material will have waxed ends, fumigated and delivered to Vancouver with documents. All billets will be numbered so there will not be any confusion. There has not been much interest in the birdseye fiddleback so I guess I will have a to make a guitar out of it and show you what it looks like.

It is possible that I may offer another unseasoned blackwood buy, but I will see how it goes in terms of benefit for everyone.

I will be posting imformation regarding other Australian Tonewoods: Desert Acacias, Western Australian Sheoak etc soon.

regards
